Shopping at Farmers' Markets not only reduces food miles but you can be sure the produce is fresh and of high quality. Also the income generated is kept in the local community helping the rural economy. You have the opportunity to chat to the stallholders about their produce and they are generally very happy to offer you a sample before you buy.

In The Heart of Hadrian's Wall, we are fortunate in having two excellent Farmers' Markets.
