At Stanegate Hideaways we have two lovely cottages in the South Tyne Valley providing excellent family accommodation.
Surrounded by Northumberland's most beautiful scenery, Hexham is a lovely market town with a wealth of fascinating history, and it is here that you will find Seal Cottage. Whilst hidden away along a peaceful footpath in a conservation area and adjacent to the open expanse of the Sele Field, this Georgian house is right in the heart of Hexham and only a few minutes' walk through the Park to the Abbey! This 3-bedroomed house provides accommodation for 5 people. Children are always welcome. We are happy to provide for those looking for short-breaks as well as full weeks. Public transport links are good and those wishing to explore without a car can do so from here. Seal Cottage is a double-fronted, two storey stone-built house, spacious and immaculately presented, where the Georgian exterior hides a tastefully modernised interior with gas central heating! There is a comfortable sitting room, with flame-effect gas fire, Smart TV with Netflix for streamed films and Wi-Fi internet access, and also a sofa-bed for the occasional extra guest. The fully equipped kitchen has electric hob and stove, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer/drier, microwave etc, and is also home to the dining area. There is also a down-stairs cloakroom with toilet and wash-hand basin. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: one has zip'n'link twin beds which can also be made up as a superking double; one has a double bed; the third is a single. The family bathroom has WC and hand-basin, and a shower over the bath.
Children are always welcome, and travel cots, toddler-bed, high-chair, buggy...football to play in the Park...can all be provided at no extra cost.
All utilities, including Wi-Fi and Netflix, bed-linen and towels are included. Parking is available a short walk from the cottage and a permit is provided, and you can also bring your car close to the cottage for loading and unloading, but those with mobility problems should note that there is no parking actually at the property.
Because there is no private garden we regret that, although next to the Park, we are not able to accept dogs at this property.
